Celebrations as construction gets underway at Audley Stanbridge Earls

Test Valley Mayor, Councillor Carl Borg-Neal, and Nick Sanderson, CEO of Audley, officially broke ground yesterday at Audley Stanbridge Earls, the luxury retirement village located near to Romsey, in the county of Hampshire. A reception marked the first step in the renovation of the grounds of the former Stanbridge Earls School, located within 32 acres of landscaped grounds.

The village, just minutes from the market town of Romsey, will house 155 luxury two bedroom apartments for over 60s. The new village will be the latest edition to Audley’s impressive portfolio of 16 nationwide.

Nick Sanderson, CEO, Audley Retirement said: “The reception today marks the beginning of an exciting development for Audley. The Stanbridge Earls site is the perfect location for an Audley village which will offer high quality housing and facilities coupled with the proximity of town life.

“The village has already received overwhelming levels of interest, highlighting the need for innovative and luxury retirement living options in the area. Audley Stanbridge Earls will aim to set the bar for what’s truly possible in retirement living.”

Test Valley Mayor, Councillor Carl Borg-Neal said: “I am delighted to welcome Nick Sanderson and the Audley team to our community as we break ground on this new development. The restoration of this impressive building dating back to Saxon times will start a new chapter for the community, while inserting a new lease of life into the site. I wish the team every success over the coming months.”

Accessible to both owners and the neighbouring communities, Audley Stanbridge Earls will also be home to the Audley Club, offering luxurious facilities including a library, restaurant and bar, swimming pool and luxury health club.

Audley enables owners to live an independent and healthy lifestyle in their own homes, with flexible care when needed. Owners buy their apartment from Audley and own it on a 125 year lease.

Audley Stanbridge Earls will welcome its first owners in autumn 2019 following the completion of the first phase of development.
