Today, 1st October 2025, Dame Mary Berry officially opened Audley Shiplake Meadows luxury retirement village in Henley-on-Thames. 

The team welcomed 80 guests on the day, including those who played a part in creating and building this beautiful village, the wonderful owners who already live here, club members, local press, and many people who are considering a move to Audley. 

Dame Mary and guests enjoyed the delicious afternoon tea prepared by the Audley team, with esteemed Head Chefs visiting from nearby Wycliffe Park and Sunningdale Park for the occasion.

At Audley we appreciate that moving home is a big step. To help you to move in quickly, without needing to sell your existing property first, we are often able to offer a rent-to-buy option - a 12 month fixed term tenancy to allow you time to sell your own property and move in straight away. Please talk to our helpful sales team about this when you call or visit.

  • For new tenancy agreements only on this property
  • Utility bills, council tax, TV licence, broadband to be paid by the Tenant
  • This is a Rent-to-Buy arrangement whereby the Tenant leases the property with the option to purchase it under specified terms
  • The rental term shall last for a 12 month fixed term
  • The option to purchase may be exercised anytime during or at the end of the rental term
  • The Tenant has the exclusive right (but not the obligation) to purchase the property by the end of the agreement
  • Notice to exercise the purchase option must be given in writing 60 days before the intended completion
  • The monthly rental fee is fixed for 12 months
  • Contract completion must take place within 12 months
  • The property price will be agreed at the time of the rental agreement so the buyer is able to secure current pricing
  • The price is fixed for the duration of the agreement (unless otherwise stated)
  • The Tenant must pay a Deposit of 4 weeks’ rent
  • If the Tenant completes the purchase within the 12 month period – 3 months rent will be refunded (deducted from the purchase completion statement)
