Area of Outstanding National Beauty ICONS exhibition at Inglewood

Inglewood House, the centrepiece of the new Audley Retirement Village near Kintbury in Berkshire, will be hosting a free art exhibition during the month of November. A series of 10 of the most iconic landscape paintings by Anna Dillon will be on display as a celebration of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The ten paintings in watercolours will be on display for a month before going on display in Marlborough and Hungerford later this year. Commissioned by the North Wessex Downs AONB to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the organisation last year, the paintings are a wonderful chance to celebrate the beauty of the local area.

Born in Berkshire in 1972, Anna has grouped her work into many counties including Berkshire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. Speaking about her work, Anna commented, “The unique and ancient countryside of the British Isles and Ireland continually inspires me to paint vibrant and colourful landscapes. As someone who enjoys long distance walks, travel and exploration I am determined to visit and paint as many landscapes as possible within my life.”

Audley Inglewood is home to a number of beautiful apartments and the Audley Club which includes the sumptuous Walmesley Restaurant and Blandy’s Bar/Bistro, swimming pool and Health & Wellbeing Centre. The village itself was opened by the Earl of Carnarvon in June 2013.  Nick Sanderson, CEO of Audley Retirement, commented: “We are delighted to be able to welcome Anna Dillon’s paintings to Inglewood House, where no doubt they will be enjoyed by all the guests and residents. Audley Inglewood seems the perfect location to display these wonderfully scenic paintings, given its own setting in the beautiful Berkshire countryside.”
