Why become a carer

The new 'Every Day is DIfferent' campaign, as reported by BBC Three today, is targeting young people with the intention of encouraging them to consider a career in a care role. The BBC have addressed the often high staff turnover and sometimes lack of benefits and career prospects for someone looking at a new career in Care. At Audley Group, we are proud to offer our dedicated Audley Care staff many benefits in their rewarding roles.

Paul Morgan, Managing Director Audley Group, comments

“The Every Day is Different campaign launch today tells people what we already know: care work is challenging, interesting and hugely rewarding, and yet it desperately needs more recruits. But the campaign mustn’t act in a vacuum – retention of great workers is just as important as finding more recruit. Yet we as a sector have been waiting for the Green Paper on Social Care for well over a year.

It’s time the Government stopped postponing publication and gave the sector more clarity. The green paper must provide the basis for improving conditions for our 1.5m existing care workers as well as creating opportunities for the additional 600,000+ required over the coming decade.”

At Audley Group, for both Audley Villages and Mayfield Villages, we pride ourselves on rewarding the dedication of our Care teams. We are fully committed to working with the UKHCA and Care England, as well as all professional bodies to enhance the opportunities offered to carers and people wishing to join the sector.

"Working with the CWC and promoting our our #Respect4carers Audley Group is committed to improving the lives of our carers and in turn our customers."

Our stable and consistent management is making a genuine difference to our Personal Carers and to customers. The development and progression of our Care Operations Manager Fionna Cannon is testament to that.

We are proud of our excellent staff retention, providing a welcome environment with a stable workforce and the ability to maintain friendships at work. This gives us the opportunity to provide consistency in service to our customers in a village and in the local community, in turn creating predictable and rewarding job patterns.

At Audley Group we offer our staff extensive benefits, including medical cash plans which pay for eye tests, dental works and specialist medical attention.

Plus, maximum pension contribution for all employees into a fully transferable pension plan.

What's more, new starters have immediate access to our team benefits package which includes supermarket cash discount plans, cheap cinema tickets, and discount codes for many high street shops.

An Audley carer will always receive full training and a continuous development programme, making the most of development opportunities through the Audley Academy. We will develop all new entrants to QCF Diploma level 2 in Health and Social Care to provide the start of the development path towards career progression.

Three of our Care Managers, who started with us as Personal Care Assistants, are prime examples of how following a clear development path through our Audley Academy can enhance your career. Two of these Care Managers have picked up Care Manager of the Year over the past two years.

All of this contributes to our happy, healthy, dedicated and caring workforce.

At Audley Group, we offer a variety of roles in a caring capacity, including on site care roles and mobile domiciliary care roles. All roles offer excellent career prospects. Find out more about a career in Audley Care.
