Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie

Looking for a quick and easy smoothie to start your day or refuel after a workout? A Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie is the perfect remedy and the best part is that you probably already have most of the ingredients in the cupboard.

The peanut element to this smoothie has two benefits. Firstly, since peanuts are actually legumes, they have a lot more protein than other nuts and also offer fibre, niacin, folate and vitamin E.

Secondly, they are good for the heart with healthy monounsaturated fatty acids and help with gut health by providing high fibre.

Ingredients

1/3 cup 2% Greek yogurt
1/2 medium banana (frozen gives an even creamier consistency)
3/4 cup almond milk, or milk of choice
1-3 tablespoons peanut butter depending on your preference

Optional flavour hits

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cardamom

Whizz ingredients in a blender and add water or more milk to achieve your preferred consistency.
