Audley Nightingale Place

Hair salon, view on the armchairs and mirrors

Audley Nightingale Place is a brand new, modern development which opened in 2020, but the site was formerly home to the local Metropolitan Police headquarters.

A short distance away stands Clapham South station, on London Underground's Northern Line.

The station opened in 1926 and was one of eight London Underground stations to include a deep-level air raid shelter. These tube shelters served as a safe place for essential services such as telephone services, government offices and military personnel.

For information about Clapham's local history, the Clapham Society has a series of articles here.
