Local attractions

You don’t have to go far to see just how much Surrey has to offer. Get lost in Windsor Great Park, visit the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation, the Brooklands Museum, or simply marvel at the blossoms and blooms of the breathtaking RHS Garden Wisley. Also nestled beside Windsor Castle, the historic Theatre Royal Windsor offers a wide range of quality drama, comedy, musicals and opera throughout the year.

Windsor Castle

Nearby to Audley Cooper’s Hill is Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, notable for its long association with the English and British Royal family, and of course for its stunning architecture. Rich with heritage and always open to visitors, it’s a family day out you won’t forget.

The castle is open for visitors every day except Garter Day, Easter and Christmas.

Windsor Great Park

With historic woodland and award-winning gardens, Windsor Great Park attracts visitors all year round.

The Long Walk, leading from Windsor Castle up to the famous Copper Horse statue, is a three-mile tree-lined avenue with stunning views down to the castle and across the surrounding area, forms the most iconic image associated with Windsor Great Park.

Gardens in summer

Savill Garden

Created in the 1930s, The Savill Garden is a haven of beautifully designed gardens and woodland. Visitors enjoy walking around its 35 acres, taking in sculptures and discovering new and rare plants from around the world, arranged in incredible seasonal compositions.

Ascot Racecourse

One of the UK's leading racecourses -- and among the best-known in the world -- Ascot hosts 13 of the 36 annual Group 1 horse races.

Rebuilt in the 1960s and again in 2006, the Ascot grandstand has undergone several transformations through the years.

Royal Ascot is probably the most famous event in the racing calendar, attracting top-calibre horses and riders competing for more than £8 million in prize money over five days.

RHS Wisley

Wisley is the historic home of the Royal Horticultural Society and boasts one of the largest plant collections in the world. Every season has a different wonder to show - bulbs and blossom in spring, beautiful borders and roses in summer, stunning autumn colours and then frosty walks in winter.

The Glasshouse is worth a visit on its own, not to mention the cosy cafes where you can enjoy a hot lunch or cup of tea. Just around the corner from Wisley is a 'pick your own' farm where you can enjoy the local produce at a great price.

Reading and Brooklands museums
