Matlock’s central location, scenic surroundings and public transport links make it a popular base for exploring the best of The Peak District National Park, right on your doorstep.

The Limestone Dales found in Derbyshire and the Peak District provide some of the most spectacular and picturesque scenery in the UK, and a dramatic backdrop to some of the best walks in Britain. You can even enjoy the local fresh produce by visiting a 'pick your own' farm and local farm shops.

Darley Dale

Historically described as a village, Darley Dale is in truth a collection of smaller communities that have grown together. The area, known simply as 'Darley' until the end of the 19th century, lies on the border of the Peak District National Park between the towns of Matlock and Bakewell, the third largest market town in England.

Audley St Elphin's Park retirement village is less than seven miles from Bakewell, offering luxury and modern retirement living. Home of the famous Bakewell pudding, this wonderful, bustling market town at the heart of the Peak District is a delight to visit, with many lovely shops, restaurants and picturesque walks along the river.
