Audley St Elphin's Park welcomes new owners
Yesterday Audley St Elphin’s Park, the luxury retirement village in the Derbyshire Dales, welcomed new owners to its recently completed third phase of development. The new building, Kennedy Court, contains 15 two bedroom apartments for those aged 55 and over. The new development has proved extremely popular completely selling out before being completed.
Apartments in this phase offer private balconies or terraces, with some enjoying views over the picturesque Derbyshire Dales. They also include the high quality fixtures and fittings present in all Audley developments, from Villeroy & Boch sanitary ware to SieMatic kitchens.
New owners of properties at the retirement village were welcomed by Councillor Steve Freeborn, Chair of the County Council Derbyshire alongside members of the St Elphin’s Park and wider Audley team, as part of yesterday’s event (2nd November).
Speaking about the event, Nick Sanderson, Audley CEO, said: “St Elphin’s Park is a magnificent and important local landmark and we are excited to welcome new owners to the already thriving community. We have been very encouraged by the warm reception we continue to receive from the local community, who rightly hold St Elphin’s Park very dear.”
Councillor Steve Freeborn, Chair of the County Council Derbyshire, added: “I am pleased to attend the launch of Kennedy Court and welcome the new owners with the Audley team. It’s a real pleasure to visit the site and fantastic to see the new phases blended so sympathetically with the previously restored buildings. The development of villages like St Elphin’s Park are vital; Government forecasts suggest there will be a 50% increase in the number of people over 65 and a doubling in the number of over 85s in the next two decades. Therefore suitable, high quality housing must continue to be developed.”
Dr James Macfarlane, a new owner of one of the Kennedy Court apartments said: “I’m really very excited to be moving into Kennedy Court, start a new chapter in my life and become part of the St Elphin’s Park community. I can now truly relax and enjoy my retirement, I just can’t wait to move in and get started, as I am thrilled more, each time I come into the village!”
A selection of properties are still available for purchase at St Elphin’s Park, following July’s ground breaking of Hopkins and Devonshire. This penultimate phase of development, once completed from the end of 2016, will bring the total number of properties for over 55s at the village to 107.
