AUDLEY INGLEWOOD TO HOST ‘OPEN STUDIO’ FOR LOCAL ARTIST
Rosemary Trigwell’s paintings will be on public display from 10th-18th May at Inglewood House
Inglewood House, the centrepiece of the Audley Retirement Village near Kintbury in Berkshire, will host a free art exhibition from the 10th until the 18th May. A series of paintings by artist Rosemary Trigwell will be on display as a celebration of the Open Art in Berkshire season.
The watercolour paintings to be exhibited cover a variety of subjects including local countryside scenes, still life studies and life drawings. Rosemary is well known in the area for her paintings of birds and farm animals including her own gaggle of geese and inspiration often comes from her Berkshire surroundings. As a Kintbury resident, Rosemary has also taken the opportunity to paint Inglewood House following its rebuilding and re-opening as a luxury retirement village in 2013.
Speaking about her work, Rosemary commented, “I work in watercolour, painting still life subjects, landscapes and countryside scenes, often featuring cows and sheep. I love to recreate the texture of the subject, the roughness of an old stone wall or the hair on an animal’s back. I am delighted to have been invited to exhibit my work for Open Studios 2014 at the prestigious Audley Inglewood Retirement Village.”
