Audley Inglewood celebrate British institution of afternoon tea
Since its introduction in 1840, afternoon tea has cemented itself as a quintessentially British pastime. Audley Inglewood, the luxury retirement village near Kintbury in Berkshire, celebrated this tradition by taking part in Afternoon Tea Week.
Afternoon Tea Week took place across the UK with themed menus and offers during 10th-16th August. From five-star hotels to castles and stately homes, luxury department stores to double decker buses, there was something going on in every region of the UK.
Audley property owners and the wider community partook in the week at Audley Inglewood by sampling a specially designed menu at Blandy’s Bar & Bistro, situated in Inglewood House. Head Chef, Gert Pienaar, designed a special set menu which incorporated some of the finest seasonal ingredients from a wide variety of local suppliers. Dishes included classics such as finger sandwiches, mini pork pies, and fruit scones served with Cornish clotted cream.
